Frequently Asked Questions
Here, we answer some of the most common questions or queries we receive. If you can't find the answer to your question here, then please don't hesitate to get in touch and we will do our best to help you.
1. For my wedding, we only want to hire for one night. Is this possible?
Unfortunately not. Bell tents take quite a lot of time to put up and take down. In order to ensure they are ready in time for your wedding, the tents must be put up the day before and consequently they are only available on the basis of a two night hire. It is also impossible for us to hire them out for a second night to another client if they are booked for your event, which is another reason that they can only be booked as a two night hire for weddings.
2. What is the cost if we want an extra day/night for my wedding booking?
We will offer an extra day/night for £30 per tent for wedding bookings; this must be arranged and paid for in advance of the hire.
3. How do I secure my booking?
Your booking is secured once you have paid the initial payment which is 50% of the hire cost. Booking dates can only be held for 7 days from the date you make your enquiry. However, we will endeavour to hold the date for you for up to 30 days - from 7-30 days we will notify you if we receive another enquiry to give you chance to secure your booking. If you are unable to do so straight away, we will offer the date to the other client.
4. What happens if the tent or equipment gets damaged or something goes missing during the hire?
You as The Main Hirer are required to pay a refundable damage deposit in addition to your hire cost. The cost for each item that could be included in the hire is listed in our Terms & Conditions. The tents and equipment will be checked upon return/collection, and any charge for damaged or lost items will be invoiced to you and deducted from the damage deposit. The remaining balance of your damage deposit will be returned to you within 14 days of the end of the hire period.
5. Do I book the venue and catering, or do you?
We do not usually book the venue or catering for you. However, we do have relationships with a number of suppliers and can provide you with a number of recommendations. Should you require help with planning your event, we do offer a wedding planning service for an extra cost. Please enquire here.
6. Can we use candles or stoves in the tents?
We do not provide candles with our hire tents because of the fire risk. The risk is particularly high when the hire is at an event where people are drinking alcohol. Instead, we offer fairy lights and battery-powered candles. If you or a guest chooses to use candles in their tent, you as The Main Hirer are responsible for this and for any damage that may occur as a result.
7. Can we smoke in your tents?
We do not allow smoking in our tents. Please be aware that if any evidence is found that a guest has been smoking in a tent, then you will be charged £100 per tent where this evidence is found. This is also listed in our Terms & Conditions.
8. How many people can you fit in a bell tent?
In a 4 metre bell tent, it is possible to fit up to six people, but more comfortably four people. In a 5 metre bell tent, you can fit up to eight. When booked as part of a Glamping Kit package, our tents are supplied with double beds as standard. However, there are be options to supply single airbeds and for more people per tent, although pricing is slightly different. Please get in touch with us to discuss this option.
9. What happens if it's raining or windy?
Our bell tents are high-quality, waterproof and are very sturdy in wind or rain. You will have no problems at your event and should feel very warm and cosy in your bell tent! There is actually something very romantic about being cosy in a bell tent when you can hear the rain outside.
10. Why don't you supply bedding with your Glamping Kit?
Bedding costs a lot of money to launder and to replace if damaged. For hygiene reasons, it needs laundering regularly. That is why we place an extra charge on hires where bedding is required. If you'd prefer not to pay this charge, simply ask your guests to bring their own bedding. Our recommendation is that they bring 2 quilts - one to put under them and one to put over them. This is much warmer than just one quilt.
